UPDATE......It has been arranged to get the styles fixed, like the one in the picture they have been in need of repair for sometime, the association has arranged for these to be fixed sometime with-in the next 2-3 weeks, making it easier on all anglers young and old.
.
UPDATE ......... 2012 Competition Schedule pdf in Documents section.
UPDATE.......Memberships are now due for this year. pdf form is in Documents section.
This year the association will continue to put time and effort into the running of association waters.
With new styles arriving on Loch Ascog making easier access to some of those great swims.
Another bash at weed clearing on the associations only Carp water (Loch Greenan)
Work parties for the above will be a great help.
Another year of exciting competitions on associations waters...... and beyond.
Social nights held the last 2 years have proved to be a great success and more are being planned.
A few BBQs are also on the card.
A race night will be held later in the year and should be a great fund raiser.
With other ideas on the menu for 2012, this should prove to be a great year to become a member of the association.
Now why not check out our association waters for some information on species, tackle to use and places to fish.
At this years AGM it was voiced that not much had happened on the web site!! it is worth while noting that with out members partisipation then the web site struggles. It will only work with input from members, like fishing reports, baits that are or not working, swims that are fishing/ swims that are not. So we need lots of extra info so please submit any with photos that you would like to see on the associations web site.

Pike being hard fighting fish sometimes need extra recovery time before swiming away especially during warmer weather with lower oxgen levels in our waters.
It is often the case that the fish is encouraged to swim away into deeper water only to belly up on the surface yards up the bank and goes unnoticed.
The fish will never recover from this and will perish.
With a few thoughtfull & simple steps the angler can prevent this happening.
Follow these steps and help preserve our fish stocks.
1..When you decide on your fishing swim look for a fish landing area and a shallow safe return area ideal if this can be 20 or 30 ft up or down from your swim.
2..Using suitable Pike fishing tackle, land fish as quickly as possible.
3..Unhook, weight, & photo quickly.
4..Take fish to your safe return area and place in very shallow water 10" or so deep. Do not push fish through water!! this only causes stress in the already tired fish! the oxygen is in the water thats where the fish needs to be.
5..If fish stays upright on its own.......leave the area and check from a distance that this remains the case, fish will swim away when recovered.
6..If fish does not stay upright but rolls on its side, then you need to act fast.
7..Get two banksticks/rod rests, or light wood plant supports(these are very cheap and light to carry)
8..Put a bankstick on each side of the fish untill it is supported and cant roll over...Note.you may need to use 4 sticks if it is a very large fish.
9..Once supported and upright leave the area and only check from time to time.........it is importaint to be pactient as the fish may sit for 10 minutes or hours. But it will swim away when recovered.
These few steps are proven and recomended and if followed will greatly help preserve our Pike

Hi all
We hope you like the new look of the site, and hope that by the end of this coming season the club will be full of new members.
The site gallery full of new pictures and new personal bests. We will have lots more information on our fantastic waters. We will have lots of updates on how the waters are fishing, whats being caught and on what! So bookmark the sites news page..........now!!.
We will be running a few social nights on the waters so they should be fun as last year they proved to be a great hit. The club purchased a weed rake which will be used on the Greenan Loch. This rake should clear some swims from that dreaded grass weed. This we hope will encourage more members to have a bash at fishing this lovely water, the species include Common Carp, Mirror Carp, Roach, Roach/Bream hybrids, Tench, Eels, Stickle backs so it will be great to get in and around all of these.
With the lochs the club has it makes sense to become a member of this ever growing club. So please join up for this season for great value fishing and please check fo updates.
