MEMBERSHIPS CLOSED

Membership renewals and requests are now closed for the coming season.

The Committee would like to wish existing and new members tight lines for the forthcoming season.

Permits and club information will be posted out ASAP.

Meanwhile, members are urged to make themselves familiar with fishing rules, correct tackle and the boat rules which can be found on the website.

ALL RULES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

To keep up to date with club competitions,news etc then keep an eye on the website or the members only Facebook page throughout the season.

Please renew through the Permits & Online Payments page or at MacQueens Butcher by no later than April 1st 2017, to ensure your continued access to Association waters!

 New members wishing to be added to the waiting list please register your interest via the 'Contact Us' page. Successful applicants will be notified early April.

AGM & Prizegiving Night

The Isle of Bute Angling Association held their AGM and prizegiving night in The Moat Centre on Friday 24th February.

 

Prize winners were as follows;

Kane Trophy- Davie Lyons

Rae Trophy- Scott Clark

Calder Cup- Martin Deighan

George Morrison Cup- Scott Clark

Smith Trophy- John McInairnie

Sinclair Memorial Shield- John McInairnie

John McPherson Memorial- Martin Deighan

Chrystie Trophy- John McInairnie

Murdo Mackenzie Trophy- Neil McKirdy Jnr

Gordon Trophy for heaviest trout caught in competition- John McInairnie

Club Champion 2016- John McInairnie

 

The Committee office bearers for the coming year are Chairman Jim Malcolm, Secretary Paul McTaggart, Treasurer David MacQueen and Committee Members are Neil McKirdy Jnr, Roger Browning and Chris Mundy.

Guest Tickets

The Committee have taken the decision to reinstate the Guest ticket allocation for members.

Each member will be permitted 1 paying Guest per session.

All Guests must be requested by email or by phone/text to Club Secretary prior to commencing fishing.

Guest tickets shall be £10 per day.

Guests are not permitted to use Association boats.

AGM Update

The Association held its AGM on Friday 26th Feb.

Election of Committee members is as follows;

Chairman- Jim Malcolm

Secretary- Paul McTaggart

Treasurer- David MacQueen

Committee Members- Roger Browning and Neil McKirdy Jnr


Permit prices would remain at the 2015 prices apart from Junior Membership which has slightly increased to £20.

Guest tickets are to be reinstated for this season. Members are allowed 1 paying Guest per session. Any member wishing to bring a Guest must request access prior to commencing fishing by contacting Association Secretary. Guest tickets will be £10 per day.  Guests are NOT permitted to fish from Association boats.

There was also a few small changes to the boat rules. Please make yourself familiar with them. 

Membership Renewals will open on March 1st and run until April 1st.

New Membership applications should be made via the 'Contact Us' option on website, or by collecting an Application form from MacQueens Butchers or Ardbeg Mini Market. Successful applicants will be notified early April.

Please note that new Memberships will be limited.

The Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended AGM.

2016 AGM

The Association AGM will take place on Feb 26th at 7pm in The Moat Centre. Meeting will start at 7pm sharp. All members are urged to attend.

Guest Ticket Allocation

The Committee have decided to withdraw the Guest Ticket allocation until further notice.

This measure has been taken in light of the outbreak of Argulus lice in Loch Ascog.
